Daniel Little honored as 2009 Distinguished Alumnus

Father’s Day proved to be an extra-festive occasion for alumnus Dan Little (Class of 1954) on Sunday, June 21st when, surrounded by family and friends, he was presented with McCormick Theological Seminary’s Distinguished Alumnus/a Award at the Maple Bluff Country Club in Madison, Wisconsin. Dan has had a long and illustrious relationship with McCormick.  He served as Interim President from 1993 – 1995 and also as a Trustee for two terms.

President Cynthia Campbell and several members of McCormick’s faculty and staff went “on the road” to honor Dan who has been undergoing treatment in Madison for a brain tumor since April 2008.  In her remarks, President Campbell expressed her appreciation of Dan’s service to the Seminary, the church and the world and added a special note of thanks for the friendship and guidance Dan offered to her when she became President of McCormick in 1995.

Dan was awarded a medal with the seal of the Seminary and the award, which reads:

“In recognition of his exceptional gifts for ministry and his selfless service to the Church and the world, McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, Illinois, presents the 2009 Distinguished Alumnus Award to the Rev. Dr. G. Daniel Little Class of 1954.”

Dan will also be honored during McCormick Days 2009 on October 30th
