Services and policies for guest housing at McCormick Theological Seminary.

Who can use guest housing?

McCormick has 21 guest beds available for alumni/ae, members of the Board of Trustees, prospective students, visitors of any seminary department, visitors of staff, students, and faculty, commuting students, ACTS Cluster groups or individuals, groups or individuals related to PC(USA), youth groups on mission trips to Chicago and college groups on vocational exploration. Other groups or individuals wishing to use guest housing at McCormick must be approved by Monica Williams, guest housing coordinator. Please, children under 13 are not allowed.

Where is guest housing located?

McCormick Guest Housing is located at 1400 East 57th Street (on the corner of Dorchester and 57th Street) in Chicago on the second floor in one of McCormick's Residential Buildings.

What is the facility like?

The guestrooms offered by McCormick Seminary are mostly single private rooms. All rooms are air-conditioned and non-smoking. Each room has a prepared bed, wardrobe, desk, lamp and a digital radio alarm clock. McCormick supplies sheets, blankets, pillows and towels, and provides fresh linens weekly. All rooms feature wireless internet access as well.

McCormick guestrooms include a shared kitchen, dining area, common lounge, a study room and bathrooms. The kitchen is equipped with appliances (refrigerator, stove, and microwave) and includes dishes, utensils, and a coffee maker. The common lounge has a television with cable and DVD players.

How can I connect to the Internet?

Guests may connect to the Internet via guest wireless access. 

How much does it cost?

Rates are very reasonable. For a single room, it's $60 per night. For a double room, the rate is $90 per night.

Payments are usually made the day of checkin. You may leave your keycard on the desk for the guest assistant to pick up. McCormick also accepts Visa/MasterCard/Discover.

How do I reserve guest housing?

How do I get the keys?

McCormick has a lock box outside of the guest housing building. You will be given a special code and instructions with your confirmation that will allow access to the lock box.  

If you need a guest room, please download the guest housing reservation form.

Shortly after we receive your reservation, we will issue a confirmation letter or e-mail with additional information on your guest housing. Please look over the confirmation carefully to make sure the dates and charges are correct.

Most of the guestrooms are single private rooms with shared bathrooms and a common lounge area. All guestrooms are non-smoking rooms, include air conditioning in the summer months, and include a shared kitchen with dishes, utensils and a coffee maker. Each guestroom is equipped with a digital radio alarm clock. McCormick provides sheets, blankets, pillows and towels that are changed weekly.

We wish to accommodate each guest, but we are aware that guest housing may not meet everyone's needs. In the event that our rooms do not meet your needs, we invite you to contact other available housing that is conveniently located in the Hyde Park area.
