Inquiry into Ministry
In Let Your Life Speak, Parker Palmer describes vocation in this way: "Vocation at its deepest level is not, "Oh boy, do I want to go to this strange place where I have to learn a new way to live and where no one, including me, understands what I'm doing." Vocation at its deepest level is, "This is something I can't not do, for reasons I'm unable to explain to anyone else and don't fully understand myself but that are nonetheless compelling."
McCormick Theological Seminary holds it's Inquiry Into Ministry event on campus each semester, in February and October. This event offers participants an opportunity to discern with others the call to theological education, explore the question "Are you compelled?" and experience what makes McCormick an outstanding place to prepare for leadership in the church and world.
The next Inquiry Into Ministry will take place October, 2010.
During Inquiry Into Ministry all meals are provided. We also offer housing for out-of-town guests who are traveling with you. There is a $45 registration fee. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Jessica Vazquez Torres, Director of Recruitment and Admissions at 773.947.6314 or admit@mccormick.edu.
