Inquiry into Ministry

A graduate of McCormick, Rev. Vicky Curtiss, explains that, “The concept of ‘vocation’ is rich, broad, and inspiring and yet discovering vocation for oneself is ultimately mysterious. There is no formula to slot people into their niche in life. Knowing oneself and knowing the needs of the world is a start, but only through a lively dynamic in which individuals interact with their environment while seeking the good of others will they find their calling.”

McCormick Theological Seminary holds its Inquiry Into Ministry event on campus each semester, in February and October. This event offers participants an opportunity to discern with others the call to theological education, explore the question "What am I called to next?" and experience what makes McCormick an outstanding place to prepare for leadership in the church and world.

During Inquiry Into Ministry all meals are provided. We also offer housing for out-of-town guests who are traveling with you. There is a $45 registration fee. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Jamie Wasowski, Associate of Master's Level of Recruitment and Admissions at 773.947.6255 or admit@mccormick.edu

As Rev. Lillian Daniel reminds us in her book This Odd and Wondrous Calling, “Somehow God calls us into practicing our faith together, not so that we will all march in lockstep but so that we will move like a dance troupe, in which each one of us contributes a somewhat different step into the unfolding work and beauty.” Come visit and join us for a weekend of discernment of your different step.
