Last year, McCormick engaged the theme Peacemaking in the City: A Faithful Response to Urban Violence. It was our opportunity as a community to take an in-depth look and explore, "What is this violence?" Many people attended the thirteen events we hosted and found them meaningful. After the October anti-violence panel discussion with Cleopatra Cowley-Pendleton (mother of Haydia Pendleton), Dr. Reggie Williams said,"I felt the ground shift."

The ground continued to shift for many of us, especially during our weekly worship, when candles were lit and the name of those killed were read aloud. We understood this was only the beginning of our exploration. With that in mind, our focus this year is to equip and empower transformational leaders to declare, "Here I am Lord, send me!
