Student Responsibilities

Current Field Studies student responsibilities include:

  • In order to be paid your stipend for field education, you must complete Federal and State Tax forms. If you have previously worked on-campus and have received a paycheck for any on-campus work, then you do not need to complete new tax forms. If you have never worked on-campus and received a paycheck, please bring your passport, driver’s license or state identification card plus your Social Security Card to the Office of Student Employment (Room 205, 2nd floor).
  • Attend Field Studies Program Participant Training, September 9, McCormick Theological Seminary Common Room.
  • Contact site supervisors prior to August 31st to discuss the beginning of your learning/serving time.
  • Commit 12 – 15 hours per week to your field site.
  • Students are expected to be on-site during January.
  • Make check-in appointment with Joanne Lindstrom or Nannette Banks during October.
  • Submit Learning Serving Covenant to Field Studies Office no later than October 14.
  • Review Mid-year Evaluation with Supervisor and submit to the Field Studies Office no later than December 2.
  • Complete and Review year-end self-evaluation with supervisor and lay ministry support team and submit to field studies office by April 23.
  • Meet weekly with supervisor for theological reflection.
  • Meet monthly with lay ministry support team for support, reflection and feedback.
  • Attend MIN404/405 as scheduled.
  • Make a check-out appointment with Joanne Lindstrom or Nannette Banks during April.
