Equips students to lead religious organizations with more sensitivity to diverse congregants and communities. Ministry in North America occurs today in contexts that are multi-racial and multi-cultural, calling for faith community leaders whose command of knowledge includes wisdom about the culture of others as well as one’s own culture; whose character includes in its formation a consciousness of the racialized North American context and an intentionality about their identity in such a ministry context; and whose capacity for engaging in ministry goes beyond mere sensitivity to cultural differences to attentiveness and responsive-ability to cultural factors and dynamics.
