To prepare students to translate, interpret and consult the Greek New Testament with the appropriate lexical and grammatical tools (including BibleWorks and Accordance) and to begin a life-long enjoyment of biblical Greek. To help students grasp the relationship between translation and biblical interpretation by giving greater attention to the exegetical tools, strategies and methods which are particularly linked to the study of the Greek New Testament, and by reading and interpreting I John.

A continuing purpose in this second semester of biblical Greek is to build an elementary vocabulary and to complete the introduction of basic Greek grammar. We will continue to study Greek in a way that encourages individuals to identify their individual strengths and approaches to the task, and which, it is hoped, will enable them to be self-teaching beyond the bounds of the course.

This course is the second half of a two-semester sequence in Greek Exegesis.
