Joshua Yoder is a doctoral candidate at the University of Notre Dame,
writing his dissertation on the portrayal of Roman governors in Luke-Acts.
Prior to beginning doctoral studies he served for five years as pastor of a
small Mennonite congregation which began as an intentional community,
located in a low-income, racially diverse neighborhood in Elkhart, Indiana.
His involvement with Christian Peacemaker Teams in the 1990's instilled in
him an abiding commitment to justice advocacy and nonviolent strategies for
violence prevention and social change. He received his M.Div. at McCormick
in 2000, where he met his wife Rebecca Kirkpatrick, now a Presbyterian
pastor. They have a five-year-old son, Owen.
