This course aims to guide the students to the critical, contextual, and cross-cultural study of Romans, one of the most influential discourses in the Western Christianity. The focal emphasis will be given on (1) careful reading of the socio-historical, literary (rhetorical), and theological contexts of Romans, (2) serious engagement with new questions and perspectives on Romans, and (3) critical appropriation of Paul’s messages for faithful ministry in local churches and communities.
