Please check out Kirk in the Hills MIF on the Church Leadership Connection.
Kirk in the Hills is a Christ-centered community of faith called to deepen faith, serve others and foster fellowship. Our congregation is active, committed and engaged as disciples of Jesus Christ through worship, learning and service. Our friends and visitors feel drawn toward faith in Jesus Christ through the faith of the church. Our goal is to expand the ministry of Kirk in the Hills in depth and breadth so that we can realize our vision.
We seek to create an atmosphere where all can grow in faith and engage in the whole life of God’s work through worship, education, stewardship, fellowship and mission. This is lived out in the following ways:
o Worship at the Kirk, the capstone of our ministry, is reverent and Christ-centered. Two services: One very traditional “high church” and another more family-friendly that holds the Christ-centered worship traditions. Worship is enriched by an effort to engage younger families. Both services are supported by a strong music ministry, including children, youth, and professional choirs.
o Christian Education is a priority for all ages, evolved and ignited over the past 5 years! Our recent renovation fulfilled the need for additional space. The CE information on our website provides insight into the depth and breadth of what we offer for youth and adults.
o Addressing finances was a focus during the interim period. Recent Stewardship Campaigns resulted in excellent leadership participation and overall increases in pledges over the previous years. Stewardship is modeled and embraced by our staff and lay leadership.
o We take fostering fellowship seriously. Church-wide initiatives to build community continue to produce congregational camaraderie in a more relaxed engaging atmosphere.
o Outreach and Mission ministry works with and supports programs in the church and in our local and global communities, providing hands-on opportunities for volunteers. Visit our web site for more details.
