  • Meet with the lead teachers for Childcare, Children’s Chapel, and FaithQuest to monitor classroom environments and instruction.
  • Coordinate responses to parents to support our families.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings to coordinate the children’s ministry with colleagues and pastor.
  • Check staff and volunteer calendars weekly to schedule substitutes when necessary for Sunday mornings or special events requiring childcare supervision.
  • Write monthly articles for the Tidings newsletter, yearly annual reports, and weekly emails to families about children’s ministry upcoming events.
  • Making sure that volunteers have filled out appropriate paperwork, and that children have emergency contact info and allergies info on hand at all times
  • Make sure that children are safe and accounted for during all children’s ministry activities
  • Meet monthly with Children’s Education committee to collaborate on ideas and plans for programs
  • Meet quarterly with Christian Formation Commission
  • Providing Office Administrator with pictures/information to post on the children’s program


  • Nursery staff oversight and scheduling
  • Providing (healthy) snacks for the nursery
  • Nursery inventory and purchasing supplies and materials
  • Maintaining classroom / providing lesson curriculum


  • Greeting children in worship (regulars and visitors) during both services
  • Developing curriculum for FaithQuest that includes art, music, dance, drama, and science
  • Design flyers/posters for children’s events
  • Inventory and purchasing supplies/materials
  • Teaching FaithQuest (Sunday School) for ages 4-12
  • Scheduling and overseeing volunteers to support/enhance programming
  • Documenting learning outcomes through exhibits, video, and performances
  • Recording attendance
  • Maintain classrooms

Children’s Chapel

  • Oversee and refill worship bags in sanctuary
  • Provide (healthy) snacks for children
  • Scheduling and overseeing volunteers to teach Children’s Chapel
  • Inventory and purchasing supplies/materials
  • Fill in teaching when vacancies arise
  • Recording attendance
  • Maintain classrooms
  • Developing curriculum for Children’s Chapel

Kids in Worship

  • Meet weekly with Natalie Handley to plan participation for the children in the second service
  • Greet and supervise children in the Emmaus Room
  • Facilitate the inclusion of children in parts of the service where it’s appropriate
  • Plan activities where the children create something to share with the congregation
  • Maintain attendance
  • Manage materials, supplies, and classroom
