To guide students and young adults to understand and follow Jesus Christ and to help them grow deeper in their faith.


Lead a vibrant, visible youth program featuring weekly programming to include bible study, outreach, recreation, and service activities, coordinated with the discipling, worship, fellowship, and mission life of the congregation.


  • Paid, Full time position, 40 hours a week, exempt

Education, Experience Requirements:

  • BA or BS
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and working with students grades 6-12
  • Pass a FBI/BCI background check

Major Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with youth and young adults through:
    • Working with students in groups and one-on-one
    • Establishing a faith community that welcomes students from all area schools
    • Being in contact with youth on their turf
    • Helping students in crisis situations abiding by the youth protection policy including documents for an incident report
  • Develop and coordinate programs for grades 6-12 in collaboration with NSM Adult Leadership team:
    • Mid-week, Sunday morning and Sunday evening programs that value age relevant discipleship, service and fun, inclusive of the annual Confirmation Class
    • Collaboration with the Director of Christian Education to provide a good transition for rising 6th graders moving into the youth program
    • Trips that emphasize fellowship, outreach and missions for students
    • Recruiting, training, and overseeing volunteers working in student ministry
  • Communicate with effectiveness with students and parents

Individual Expectations:

  • Serve as a committed member of the Northminster staff:
    • Faithfully connect with the leadership of the church through regular attendance of planning meetings.
    • Participating in worship, fellowship and mission life of the church, leading on request
  • Create, maintain NSM budget, website and all administrative functions
  • Attend continuing education opportunities
  • Abide by Northminster’s Child/Youth Protection Policy
