Middletown Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a vibrant and faithful congregation located in Louisville, Kentucky, is seeking a FULL-TIME YOUTH MINISTER. This congregation, with an average worship attendance of 1000, is searching for a Youth Minister who has a strong relationship with Christ, a passion for teenagers and their families, and is also drawn to seeing lives transformed by the good news of the gospel.  MCC, (http://www.middletownchristian.org), desires for its youth ministry to be a place where youth are unleashed to experience God, and therefore love and serve others in response to their personal understanding of grace. The Youth Minister will serve youth (6th – 12th grade) and their families not only by investing in their lives and creating discipleship opportunities for them, but also by building a team of adult volunteers that works together to achieve the mission and goals of MCC’s youth ministry.  This new staff member will manage and lead the youth ministry program, will invest relationally in the lives of youth and their families, church staff and volunteers, and will participate regularly in Sunday morning worship. He or she will also embrace the vision of MCC to call people to discipleship and will seek to help youth do the same.

Our team at Youth Ministry Architects (www.ymarchitects.com) has been working with MCC for the past several months as they build structures for sustainable youth ministries.  The Youth Minister will continue to develop and implement structures that will create an atmosphere for a healthy ministry to thrive.

The successful candidate will be a self-starting, energetic and relational leader who is professional and passionate about youth ministry.  The next Youth Minister should also be approachable, open-minded and experienced in facing the particular challenges of ministry in a 2000 member church.  Qualifications include at least 3 years total experience in youth ministry, a college degree with post-graduate studies (preferably ordained or on track for ordination), and theological continuity with the beliefs and practices of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
