Northminster Presbyterian Church seeks a director of youth ministry with the following capabilities: a commitment to Christian teachings within a progressive/liberal environment that emphasizes welcoming all comers; energy; the ability to form a rapport with Jr. and Sr. High youth; the ability to organize and supervise social and mission activities appropriate for these age groups; the ability to communicate with parents regarding activities and the curriculum for these age groups; and a genuine interest in the development of Christian spirituality among Jr. and Sr. High youth.

Job duties include:

--assisting in the Sr. High Sunday experience, known as “Challenge Class”

--teaching Jr. High Sunday school approximately twice per month

--organizing and supervising monthly fellowship and/or mission activities for Jr. and Sr. High youth

--together with the Director of Christian Education or the CE Committee, assisting teachers with the development of curriculum and lesson plans, especially with respect to the Jr. High group

Duties may also include:

-- working with other pastoral staff to lead confirmation classes

--attending staff meetings bi-weekly or monthly

--communicating with parents on a regular basis regarding activities, curriculum, special events, etc.

--working to expand participation among youth in all phases of youth services, especially Sunday lessons 

Weekly time commitment may vary occasionally due to church calendar and activities.
