Perhaps you know of a pastor who may be a good fit for a growing church in a growing area We invite you to consider for a moment if there is a pastor (or more) in the area of ministry you serve who might have an interest in serving a congregation that is:

Courageously pursuing God’s dream for them by means of their clarified identity and direction.

Growing numerically:
- Attendance has increased over 20% in 2013 and 2014
- Membership has increased 17% in 2013 and 2014

(After clearing its rolls of 42 inactive members in 2013, the congregation has gained back 16 new members in 2013 and 19 new members to date in 2014.)

The church is debt free due to a one time Fresh Start offering – raising over $170,000; thus freeing up their financial resources to live fully into Christ’s Mission and Vision for them.

Located in a suburban community that has seen phenomenal growth in recent decades, is known for its world class schools, and is often ranked as one of the best places to live and raise a family.

It is a congregation that:
- Is - by the grace of God - transforming itself in new ways that continue to amaze me.
- Is marked by its willingness to give, serve, and engage in mission both locally and globally.

Has terrific growth potential on account of its:
- PCUSA roots and positioning among the mainline family of churches in the community.
- Church Size that offers strong outreach programming – especially to children and youth and shares a strong sense of community and belonging amongst its fellowship.

Worship is upbeat and joyful that includes an organ, a jazz band, adult and children’s choir; numerous voices from young to seniors who lead in prayers, liturgy, drama…; mixed in with voices of infants and toddlers and lots of laughter. It is a congregation that is committed to being an inter-generational community of faith in worship and in life together.

This is a congregation that has struggled in recent years to find its identity and purpose, and has suffered the misfortune of staff (pastors and other staff) turnover. It is a congregation that is addressing those parts of its life together that are unhealthy and unfruitful. I believe this congregation is making great strides to live into a new life cycle and is at a point of readiness to be led by a fresh wind of the Spirit through its next pastor.

This congregation’s name is Ankeny Presbyterian Church and it is located in Ankeny, IA, just north of the capitol city of Des Moines, Iowa.

Please take a moment to look at the attached Ministry Information Form (download available above). There is much to celebrate and much yet to be accomplished. If God brings to mind someone you think that God has prepared for such a ministry assignment like this, please pass this letter and MIF on to them along with a prayer for God’s leading. Feel free to contact me by phone or email.

Sincerely in Christ,
