The MIF is available at the Church Leadership Connection.

The Denison United Presbyterian Church is called to address the emerging needs of our community in many ways. We saw a need for a local Latino church without a place to worship and have found a way to share our facilities. Our church supports the local Hunger Fighters Organization, Neighbor helping Neighbor interfaith charitable group, and the local Temporary Assistance Program.

Our church has made several changes to meet the needs of our constituency. We provide a screen with the bulletin projected every Sunday and use microphones to aid those who struggle with vision and hearing. We also tape sermons weekly and deliver to our home-bound members. We embrace technology as a way to enhance worship and communicate with members.

The person being called to this congregation needs to be skilled in preaching and teaching the Word of God. The right candidate would express a genuine interest in the lives of parishioners and recognize strengths of church members to encourage individual involvement and delegate work as needed. We look for a person who is called to lead us in reaching out to a culturally diverse community and will be present and active in the local community. They must be friendly and outgoing to God’s children of all ages and open to facilitating an active youth group. This person must be willing to be involved at the Presbytery and Synod levels and it is important they possess a thorough knowledge of PC (USA) polity and can bring the wider church to our local congregation.
