We'd love to receive your application for the pastorship at Market Street Presbyterian Church, Lima, Ohio. We are in NW Ohio. We are a very friendly church. We would like a Pastor to commit to staying with us for at least five years if possible. Our last Pastor felt a call to return to Africa as a Missionary. So, we are now looking for a new Pastor.
We are a small congregation, 160 members, in a large church. Our church was founded in 1833 and is still going strong. We are very conservative in our beliefs. We are now an aging congregation. But, we hope to grow and expand in the direction of bringing the Word of God to more people in the area.
We are looking for a Pastor to believes in mission. This is a church of mission. We have many new ideas about ways to reach others in the community and are going to try to get some of those ideas started very soon. We have a Mission Committee and an Outreach Committee and often those committees collaborate in order get some projects accomplished. We clearly feel God’s calling to expand the outreach of our church to the neighborhood where we are located and beyond.
Another job the new Pastor will have will be to initiate a youth program. We have sponsored a Bible School week the last two summers and would like to continue Bible School as a Sunday School each week. We had ten children visit this year on Easter and would like to keep that going.
Some of the qualities we are looking for in a new Pastor include: Technically savvy, Compassionate, Hopeful, Teacher, Communicator, Vision, Spiritual Maturity, Preaching and Worship Leadership.
We are on the PCUSA Church Leadership Connection.
