This one-hour documentary film by McCormick alum and filmmaker David Barnhart explores the lives of three survivors of the 2004 tsunami that devastated parts of Southeast Asia. The film takes a look at each survivor’s life over a progression of four years after the disaster. This revealing film watches as they recover, resume their way of living and eventually reclaim their lives in the aftermath. The major theme of long term disaster recovery is explored as each individual participates in the filming process by sharing their perspective of film footage from each previous year and examining the progress they have film since Barnhart’s visit each year before. Barnhart will discuss the film with the audience after the screening, answering questions and addressing key messages explored throughout the film.
