Congratulations and well-deserved. You were my OT Preceptor in my first year at PTS (1996) and I have never forgotten your pastoral heart.

May God richly bless your leadership at McCormick, Frank, and make you a prophet for the seminary of the future that nurtures the spiritual leaders the church is aching for.

Congratulations Dr. Yamada!
I am thanking God with you for yet another accomplishment in your life. I know that you will do well in your new assignment because of your kind heart, concern for the betterment of others, and your zeal to help make this world a better place to live in through knowledge. May God bless you in all your endeavors.

Dear McCormick Sisters and Brothers,
Since there is no RSVP "regrets" box, I do want you to know that if I could I would be there! But I am unable to be there… and say this truly with regret. Thank you for the Light that keeps shining forth from McCormick. Blessings from my heart to all of you and especially to Frank Yamada. Inaugurals aren't just about the beginning terms of a president… they are always inaugurals on many levels … and may Shekinah/Sophia/Spirit be moving in it all. May you and we all keep "listening" (ah, shema!) to all of it and in all of it and through all! As Kate McIlhagga writes in Around a Thin Place: An Iona Pilgrimage Guide by Jane Bentley and Neil Paynter,
you call and we follow.
You call, and we leave behind
the nets of our past lives;
the things that bound and held us;
our old selves and our regrets.
For calling and disturbing,
for surprising and making new,
for moving us towards wholeness,
we thank you Lord.
Your sister in contagious blessings of Christ's joyfully rampant, life-transforming and real Spirit -

Congratulations to you Frank on your inauguration! Blessings on you!
Friend and Colleague of Dr. Frank Yamada
Because I trust concerning this, that he who has begun good work in you will accomplish that until the day of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, Pilippians 1:6. While I’m not one to quote scripture, this came to mind, and I find it fitting, because I too believe that a good work is about to begin within and among you, and that it may not be fully realized unitl that day. I will be proud to be there to mark its beginning.
Friend and Family of Dr. Frank Yamada
Frank, God's will was done when you were elected President of McCormick and God never makes mistakes. May God's richest blessings continue to be upon you and I am pleased to be part of this historic inauguration.
My best wishes for a wonderful inauguration - and for a great continuation of your presidency, which is already off to such a good start. I'm really sorry that I'll not be present, but I'll be traveling, as one of the leads on a delegation to better understand the human-rights situation and work of the Presbyterian Church in Colombia, South America. In a group of ten (leads and participants), we'll have six McCormick alums - so we'll be thinking of you!

Congrats Frank! Wish we could be there.

Sorry to miss it, but we will not return to Chicago until June.
You are the right leader at the right time. I hope to attend your inauguration, but if I cannot, know that I am with you in spirit.

Dear Dr. Yamada: The time shared with you at McCormick is unforgetable. I wish for you many blessings in your time as McCormick president. I am sure that your work and vision will be a blessing for the kingdom of our God. I remember the priviledge of sharing with you ministring the Lord's Supper in the Chapel's service. The Lord be with you.

I want to be present at this historic occasion with the inauguration of the first Asian Pacific American president of a Presbyterian seminary.
Thank you for the invitation to join you for this important occasion! Unfortunately, being in Aotearoa New Zealand, I can't just jump in my car and come along - though I'd love to. May God's richest blessings be upon you - and McCormick - as you dream dreams, see visions and open yourselves to God working them out through you. Kia kaha! Work with courage, for it is important work you do.
