On Monday, February 4 at 10:00 a.m., the Center and the Committee present the Annual MLK Lecture by Dr. Reggie Williams, Assistant Professor of Christian Ethics. At 11:00 a.m., on the same day, Rev. Vanessa Monroe, Covenant United Church of Christ’s Youth Pastor and Minister for Justice and Witness (and McCormick alum) will facilitate a book discussion on The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander.
Both presentations will be held in McCormick’s Common Room. A continental breakfast will be provided at 9:00a.m. in the Buchanan Lounge.
Rev. Monroe will facilitate another book discussion on The New Jim Crow on Thursday, February 28 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. in the McCormick Common Room.
