McCormick Theological Seminary, a Seminary of the Presbyterian Church, (U.S.A) seeks to be dynamic, innovative, anticipatory, and nimble in every phase of the enrollment process and seeks to bring a new level of Seminary‐wide attention, focus, collaboration, analysis, and strategic direction to student enrollment at the Seminary. Thus, the Seminary is seeking a Senior Director for Admissions and Enrollment who will play a key role in shaping the Seminary’s direction, fiscal strength, stature, reputation, and possibilities. This person will lead an enrollment management team that anticipates and responds to enrollment challenges and must work to grow and guide Seminary enrollment to create the strongest possible enrollment future. They will work closely with key internal constituencies and will build and maintain excellent relationships across the Seminary and with numerous and diverse external constituencies to provide the leadership and coordination for a comprehensive Seminary‐wide enrollment strategy that is aggressive, forward looking and consistent with the goals, mission, and resources of McCormick.
Qualifications for this position include:
A bachelor’s degree, required, and an advanced degree (in a related field, including, without limitation, theological education) is preferred. Marketing and/or Communications‐related degree is also desirable.
Proven expertise in enrollment and change management with demonstrated success in achieving enrollment and net tuition revenue goals while maintaining or improving diversity and quality; significant experience managing the complex interplay of marketing and recruiting strategies, enrollment goals, yield and financial aid; the ability to align enrollment strategies with academic priorities and capacities; experience in and personal commitment to enrolling and retaining a diverse student body; and enjoyment in leading, managing, and implementing an enrollment function that supports the Seminary’s goals and objectives.
Institutional leadership with readiness to play a leadership role on the Seminary’s Administrative Cabinet and ability to act as a strategic thinker and expert in the enrollment arena, and preference for working collaboratively.
Strong analytical capacity: demonstrated to produce forward‐looking, transparent strategic plans, models, and budgets that link expenditures to outcomes; assess the effectiveness of how recruitment and financial aid funds are employed to achieve enrollment goals; and willingness to lead a data‐driven enrollment function.
Strong management ability: demonstrated experience and skill in working with a strong and committed team of leaders; leadership of staff through teamwork and collaboration, delegating as appropriate and demonstrating a commitment to professional development opportunities for staff.
Strong marketing ability: demonstrated use of creative and effective marketing strategies; proven success in innovation and risk‐taking combined with excellent execution of both complex and routine marketing strategies; a record of taking programs to new levels of success; ability to carry out marketing functions with close attention to the needs of Development and other Seminary functions; ability to leverage technology in marketing with a sensitivity to multiple and diverse constituencies. Computer skills: experience using Microsoft office and Ellucian Power Campus or similar student information systems.
