Community
We’re a vibrant, growing congregation of 425 members and an additional 250 non-members spouses and children. We average about 200 in weekly attendance at worship. We are located 16 miles from Chicago in the western suburbs and drawn from nearly two dozen zip codes. Two thirds of our membership is under the age of sixty five. We are a congregation dedicated to worship, education and local, national, and global mission. We have a staff of two pastors, two educators and eleven additional part-time staff members.
Western Springs is a suburban village of approximately 10,000, with some racial-ethnic diversity and many middle to upper-middle class families.
Regular worship leadership, occasional preaching, opportunities to teach, plan with, engage with children, youth and young adults, opportunity to plan and teach bible study, adult education and other programs; pastoral care and visitation, administration.
From Hyde Park via car and/or public transportation: PCWS is a mile from the Burlington and Northern Train Line.By car, one would travel west on the Stevenson to Wolf Road North to 53rd Street (church is on west side of Wolf Road).
Rev. Jennifer Burns Lewis was ordained in 1983. She has been with PCWS since 2003. She has continuing education in pastoral counseling, leadership and administration.
