Established November 8, 2004 Worship Service Sundays 8:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. Liberation Christian Center is a movement formed and ordained by God to be the balm in Gilead. The Liberation Christian Center is the catalyst between: · Injustice and Justice · Hatred and Love · Separatism and Compassion · Poverty and Prosperity · Fear and Faith · The Have and The Have Nots · Ailments and Healing · The Street and The Sanctuary · Bondage and Freedom · Ignorance and Knowledge · Oppression and Liberation · Sin and Salvation By destroying the man made yokes of economical, political, social and religious constraints that prevent the spreading, teaching and preaching of the Gospel of the Holy Spirit. This is our purpose and mandate "Liberating Souls to Save the World". We have over 700 members. The priorities for 2007 are ministering to our youth and being the Catalyst between ailments and healing in our congregation, our community, our nation and our world. The U. S. Census record for 2000 states the population at 40,222 which is down 15% from 1990. The demographics are White, 0.44% Black 97.8%, Hispanic 0.86% , Asian 0.07% and Other 0.79%. The median income is $18,955. The Englewood area is 3.9 miles squared and is one of the 77 official community areas of Chicago located on the Southwest side. Currently, many of its buildings are falling apart and 43% percent of the residents are living below the poverty line. Between 1990 and 2000 over 700 murders were recorded in Englewood.
Liberation Christian Center has over 21 ministries to disciple and train up its leadership in all faucets of Parish Ministry. Ministers are licensed and Ordained. Relevant and prolific preaching goes forth on a weekly basis that transforms the lives of individuals and families. Youth leadership teams have been formed to enhance the summer programs and Thursday night Youth Ministry. Christian Education teaches every age group and is training up Instructors for certification in their specialty area. The School of Ministry's mission is to provide Christian College education to individuals considering or preparing for Seminary Education. Our vision is that we will provide classes that are transferable to McCormick Seminary and other accredited Schools. Under the expert leadership of men and women who are called and equipped in Christian education, we desire to develop new programs to meet the needs of the church and the Christian Community. Worship leaders, praise dancers, and the choir usher in the Holy Spirit during services. Bible Study is derived from practical and psychological viewpoints that are life changing to the congregation and anyone in attendance. On an average at less 20 people join per month and who immediately are placed in the new members assimilation process or retention.
