The Assistant Director of Enrollment at McCormick Theological Seminary is responsible for managing the admissions process and supporting the Senior Director of Admissions in attracting and enrolling qualified students. The Assistant Director will serve as a key member of the enrollment management team and will work closely with the Office of Enrollment Assistant and various departments, including Finance, financial aid, registrar, IT, Centers Coordinator, and Office of Student Services to ensure a seamless and efficient recruiting and admissions process. This role requires exceptional student/customer service skills, high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity, the ability to work independently, and collaborate as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Promote the mission of McCormick Theological Seminary to the public and all McCormick constituents, partners, communication channels.
Assist the Senior Director in managing the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment, including regular, personalized communication with prospective students
Assist the Senior Director in the development and implemention of comprehensive and continuously-updated recruitment strategies and plansl to attract prospective students
Build relationships with undergraduate advisors, community partners, denominational partners, churches, pastors, faculty, and other key stakeholders to increase visibility and awareness of McCormick’s programs
Collaborate with McCormick’s marketing and communications team to develop recruitment/marketing/advertising materials and social media campaigns to promote all programs, degree and non-degree.
Conduct interviews with prospective students, assess their skills and readiness for the program to which they might apply, and help guide interested potential candidates through the admissions process
Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to attract and enroll a diverse pool of qualified applicants
Collaborate with various departments to ensure a seamless enrollment process
Assist in the planning and execution of recruiting and admissions events, such as open houses and information sessions (both in person and virtual)
Represent McCormick at recruiting events, both on and off campus, to meet with prospective students and answer their questions
Maintain accurate records of all admissions and recruitment activities and prepare reports for the Enrollment team, faculty, and administration
Participate in regular meetings with the Enrollment team to discuss strategies and goals
Provide support to the Senior Director of Enrollment on projects, initiatives, and committee meetings as needed
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as education, marketing, or communications.
At least 2 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, or a related field
Knowledge of recruitment strategies and techniques
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing
Experience in Higher Education is preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English and Spanish or Korean) verbal and written communication is preferred
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. The ability to present to large and small groups, as well as engage in one-on-one conversations
Exceptional student/customer service
Collegiality and Cooperation are highly valued
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Must possess a valid driver’s license
