Position Description:
Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church, located in Lexington, KY, is seeking an Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adult Ministries. Approximately 20 youth call Maxwell Street their church home, 14 of whom will be traveling to Chicago this summer on a mission trip. The church property adjoins the University of Kentucky campus. Graduate students and young adults are drawn to the congregation's concern for marginalized and vulnerable community members. Maxwell Street has a Social Worker on staff who helps us understand and meet the local community's needs. The congregation is a More Light congregation with members of the LGBTQIA+ community on its Session. Although Youth and Young Adult Ministry will be the primary focus of this Call, there will be other opportunities for leadership in the congregation's life and worship, including preaching regularly.
