St. Sabina Church is committed to being a faith community that imitates Christ and builds a Third Day church. For over 104 years, St. Sabina has made it a priority to adjust to the changing social and cultural context of the community. St. Sabina was a recipient of a grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc. to establish the Third Day Church Project. St. Sabina partnered with Become Inc. to serve as its evaluation partner.
St. Sabina is looking for a Data and Research Assistant to provide critical administrative support for this initiative.The goal of the Third Day Church Project (TDCP) is to help congregations develop a culture that facilitates ongoing learning while improving their ability to meet their congregants' needs by living out its mission and values. Each year, St. Sabina will select nine churches to participate in a cohort, who will commit to participate in this intense collaborative learning process for one year.
Scope of Services:
The Data and Research Assistant will work closely with the Project Manager and St. Sabina's evaluation partner to gather and analyze data, conduct research, and provide administrative support to the project team to ensure the success of the program. The Data and Research Assistant will perform these duties as an independent contractor. Key responsibilities include:
Conduct needs and asset-based assessment of each church and its surrounding communities.
Assist in the development of assessment tools for the program.
Accompany team members to meetings to help administer assessments, surveys, and focus groups.
Attend regular check-in meetings with the evaluation partner and provide them with survey and assessment information as needed.
Ensure data outcomes and research feed program development.
Collaborate with TDCP to analyze data and define strategies to improve service delivery.
Conduct literature reviews and collect secondary data.
Assist in researching the best principles and methods for the program model.
Assist in the development of resource guides and tools for the online portal.
Provide additional administrative support to the Project Manager as needed.
Experience/Education
Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in public policy, social services, or related field. Must have previous experience conducting research and analyzing data.
Culturally competent and have experience working with diverse groups.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Problem solver, detail oriented, and strategic thinker.
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Flexible and able to adapt to new developments with the program quickly.
Mobility to travel throughout the Chicagoland area as needed.
Schedule
The contractor will work an average of 20-25 hours per week. The contractor schedule is flexible and varies based on the demands of the project. Duties will be performed remotely or at evaluation sites, except for team meetings and special events.
