1. Qualifications: Strong discipleship/mentoring skills, and passion to carry out the mission and vision of New Faith Baptist Church International. Must demonstrate excellence in communicating Biblical truths to promote life change. Must have the ability to lead and inspire, train and work productively with volunteers. Should be an attention holding, inspirational, effective communicator with experience in teaching large bible classes. Gifts should excel in leadership, communication, teaching and administration. Needs to be flexible with youth ministry models and flexible and open to change. Must be knowledgeable of various social media, particularly those most relevant to youth, and able to develop and utilize social media for ministry purposes. Must have an outreach focus, able to maintain public relations, communication and collaboration with local schools, recreation centers, and other youth relevant institutions.
2. Purpose of Position: To provide and maintain quality creative ministries that will lead youth to spiritual growth, maturity and win new souls for Christ. To develop programming for cultural, educational, life skills and career/ life planning. To serve the church by developing, coordinating and administering an effective and comprehensive expanding ministry to junior high and high school youth and provide leadership to and supervision of volunteers involved in the ministry. To develop effective support and outreach to college students. To provide leadership for young adult ministry, both for human development and resource youth ministry volunteers.
3. Responsibilities:
a. Fostering and coordinating Church/Community/School Relationships/ Evangelism/ Missions/Discipleship programs and events. Fellowship with other youth ministries.
b. Provide administrative oversight to the planning, implementation and evaluation of the total ministry to junior high and high school youth. This includes youth meetings, bible studies, outreach and follow-up activities, youth mission and service experiences, youth camping/ retreats, annual youth conference, youth counseling and pastoral care.
c. Maintain regular contact with youth and their parents through visitation and other appropriate means.
d. Assist in the nurturing, teaching and discipling of youth leaders/small group leaders.
e. Provide a balanced program of evangelism and discipleship including inspiration and instructional bible teaching, relevant worship, small groups and accountability, lifestyle evangelism and personal discipleship.
f. Facilitate weekly Youth Ministry Staff meeting.
g. Develop, structure and coordinate various programs and activities for Youth outreach and activities.
h. Facilitate coordination of the annual youth conference.
i. Partner with the Children’s ministry to assist with transitioning in junior high/ high school ministries.
j. Perform other duties as assigned.
