Commencement Speaker for 2022
04-08-2022
Beloved community,
As we prepare to celebrate and honor the graduating class of 2022, it is my great joy to share with you the news that the Rev. Dr. Nicholas A. Pearce has graciously and enthusiastically accepted our invitation to present this year’s Commencement address. We are grateful beyond words to Dr. Pearce and look forward to welcoming him, in this capacity, to McCormick.
A native of Chicago’s South Side, Dr. Pearce serves as Clinical Professor of Management & Organizations at the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and Assistant Pastor of the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago. He is also the author of the bestselling book The Purpose Path: A Guide to Pursuing Your Authentic Life’s Work. In addition to his service on other boards, Dr. Pearce serves as a member of the McCormick Board of Trustees. He holds the M.S. and Ph.D. in Management & Organizations from Northwestern University, the M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and the S.B. in Chemical Engineering & Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with a concentration in Religious Studies earned in conjunction with Harvard Divinity School. It is nearly impossible to summarize the breadth of Dr. Pearce’s excellence in leadership and scholarship within this announcement. Please take the time to read Dr. Pearce’s full biography here.
Information about our celebration of the Class of 2022 is now available on our social media platforms as well on our website. I am profoundly grateful to Steed Davidson, Jenny McBride, David Watkins, Nannette Banks, Thehil Singh, Richard Mayo, Jennifer Ould and the entire McCormick staff and faculty for their work in curating this extraordinary experience for our graduates and their families.
With gratitude and anticipation,
David H. Crawford
