11-01-2021

Dr. Lis Valle-Ruiz, assistant professor of Homiletics, has shared the restorative experiences of this summer's virtual retreat for church leaders in an article published by the Presbyterian Outlook. The Divine Power of Play at Sophia's Theme Park tells of the power of play in the Christian life, offering activities designed to connect participants with each other and the Divine.

Dr. Valle-Ruiz also published Dismantling Racism in Worship and Preaching through Exorcizing White Supremacy In Call to Worship, a publication of the Presbyterian Association of Musicians. In this work, Dr. Valle-Ruiz calls for the creation of worship experiences and spaces that are not exhausting to the diversity of ethnicities who come to meet with the Divine.
