Mass Incarceration - A Form of Racialized Social Control

Join us for lunch and a panel discussion focusing on mass incarceration.
There will be a 60-minute Discussion, 30-minute Q&A, and a Networking Lunch on October 29th, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until noon at McCormick Theological Seminary, 5460 S. University Avenue, Chicago, IL 60615. The Discussion Panel is sponsored by the MUM 312 Prisons: New Realities, New Mission Course and the Ministry Programs and Continuing Education Department of McCormick Theological Seminary.
Religious leaders, community activists, returning citizens, seminarians and scholars are welcome to attend this exciting event, featuring change agents in positions to influence the direction of public policy. Panelists will discuss their experiences and give helpful advise to attendees who are interested in stemming the tide of mass incarceration.
Panelists include: the Hon. Dorothy Brown, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County; Dr. Lance Williams, Assistant Director of the Jacob Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies; Dr. Jennifer McBride, Associate Dean, Doctor of Ministry Programs and Continuing Education at McCormick Theological Seminary; Dr. Dena Wiliams, Director of Behavioral Health and Religious Services CCDOC; and Dr. J. Rayford Goodwin, Senior Pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
