News on some recents grads

News of what some recent graduates are up to has made its way back to us.  And we're happy to share.

Jerome Adams is working as a production assistant for the Greater Chicago Broadcast Ministries and seeking funding so he can begin working as an associate producer.

Gregg Boettner was ordained on July 11, 2010 by the Chicago Presbytery, and called as pastor of Highlands Presbyterian Church, LaGrange, IL.

LaShundra (Connie) Dickerson will be ordained as an elder in the A.M.E. in October of this year and continues to serve as a Youth minister at DuPage AME Church.  She will also continue to serve on the Board of Directors for a disadvantage women’s shelter and volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.  And she began working on an MBA in late April of this year.

Morgan Dixon is continuing to serve in a full time position as Church Administrator at DuPage AME Church, where she also serves as a Youth Minister there with Connie Dickerson.   She officiated at her first wedding on Saturday, May 22nd and was ordained as an itinerant Elder on Saturday, Oct 2, 2010 through the Chicago Annual Conference of the AME Church by Bishop John R. Bryant.

Linda Eastwood is working as the coordinator for the Colombia Accompaniment Program.    The program was created five years ago by the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Presbyterian Church of Colombia. 

Honna Eichler Beginning in July, Honna took a permanent position as an Advancement Associate at the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions.  Her main role is to develop methods and strategies to capture the interfaith movement post-Parliament, and help the organization develop a more 'ongoing' presence within the inter-religious arena.   She will also serve on Chicago Presbytery's Ecumenical and Interfaith Working Group.

Jeff Foels will begin a CPE program this fall at home in Minnesota.

Kimberlee Frost has accepted a full-time position as a Youth Ministry Associate at Fourth Presbyterian Church.  She began her ministry on August 2nd and is excited about this new work.

Emmanuel Gore is elated to inform the McCormick community that he was accepted to pursue further graduate education in Peace Studies at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame. "I am well aware that this door would not have opened without the help and support of the McCormick faculty, stuff and fellow students. My interest in peace studies is considerably shaped by the great deal of learning experience that I have been exposed to in this institution.  I would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to this community, and particularly more so to my professors and staff for your loving patience. Your abundant help and support will remain a life long legacy in my future ministry of hope and encouragement to the marginalized and the disadvantaged."

Matthew Helms is one of two pastoral residents for a two year program at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago.  He will began his residency program this summer by attending the 219th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Adam Malak is currently serving as Pulpit Supply for the Lansing Presbyterian Church in Lansing, Illinois.
Joel Mitchell plans to pursue ordination with the National Baptist Convention USA, through his home church, St. John  Baptist Church.  Going forward he plans t seek a PhD in Pastoral Care and Counseling and hopes to begin the application process in 2011. 

Jody Noble Has been called to serve as a part time stated supply pastor at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Schererville, IL and work part-time for McCormick as an Assistant in the Development Department.  She was ordained into that position October 10, 2010.

Mike Plank was ordained on September 26 in his home church in Nebraska. He will serve as Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Hudson, NY.

Megan Remtema is serving in a year-long CPE residency in St. Paul, Minnesota.   

Pyungwon Seo has been admitted to the D. Min program at Chicago Theological Seminary.   He and his wife will be studying together, beginning this Fall.

Phillip Sigmon and Casey Thornburgh have relocated to North Carolina where Phill has been accepted into a year long CPE residency program at the University of North Carolina Hospital.   He and Casey Thornburgh (M Div ’10) were married on Sunday, May 16th,  the day after commencement. Casey is searching for a call in the area.
