The Rev. Dr. Daniel Rodriguez-Diaz Scholarship Fund Campaign
09-17-2018
At McCormick we are excited about beginning a new cohort in the new, all Spanish language Master of Arts in Ministry degree program. We have ten new students entering who started class last week from and we need your help.
This program is the fruit of many years of relationship building and a labor of love spearheaded by our beloved Rev. Dr. Daniel Rodriguez-Diaz, McCormick professor of church history emeritus and former director of the Center for the Study of Latin@ Theology and Ministry. We are profoundly grateful for the many years of service Dr. Rodriguez-Diaz devoted to the work that we are living into today. We are also deeply thankful to Dr. Rodriguez-Diaz for the hundreds of students he has recruited, nurtured, and empowered along the way. His passion for theological education has touched many lives and has transformed congregations. He the reason we are where we are today and we thank God for his work with McCormick and our communities.
Even with significantly reduced tuition, all of the students enrolled will need some level of additional financial support. In honor of Dr. Rodriguez-Diaz, Pastor Johnny Bonilla from Iglesias de Dios Pentecostal, MI—Emanuel, Indiana Harbor, IN has already pledged his community support in the 2018-19 academic year to help get the program and our students off to a strong start. We invite you to consider a personal and congregational commitment and join Pastor Johnny in honoring Rev. Dr. Rodriguez-Diaz in this way. We are asking you to consider an individual, group, or congregational gift for this new Rev. Dr. Daniel Rodriguez-Diaz Scholarship Fund, and honor Dr. Rodriguez-Diaz’s love and devotion for the church and the Spanish-speaking Christian community.
Gifts at all levels are welcome! No gift is too small (or too large), nor will this be the last time we’ll need to ask for your support. Please consider a gift that is right for you and your congregation. Here are some of the things your gifts can do!
At the $10,000 level, you could sponsor one student for their entire degree program including books.
A gift at the $3,500 level will support one student for one year.
A $1,000 partial scholarship gift could make the difference between a student who can start this September or have to wait a semester.
A gift of $600 would cover the first class for one of the member of the 2018-2019 cohort.
We pray that you and your congregation will consider a gift of love and gratitude in honor of Dr. Rodriguez-Diaz at any level to help the next generation of Latin@ leaders. Click here to make your gift online today!
