Life and the Bud of Hope

04-10-2020

Isn’t that life, anyway,

you wish for making a snowman when the season of blossoming begins,

you wish for drinking the greenness of Spring

when the season of snowflakes begins?

Dance to the upcoming spring breeze!

Dance to the leaving autumn breeze!

Then, one day or another,

In the cold snowflakes,

Wouldn't there be a tiny bud sprouting?

It was a sudden breakup. I was looking forward to a beautiful Chicago spring coming soon, but all the following situations made me take a rain check on enjoying it. About ten days ago, due to COVID-19, I made the decision to return back to South Korea. Even though my longing for Korea was always in the corner of my heart, this sudden breakup with Chicago and the McCormick community made my heart sorrowful. However, I and we know this is not the end. As time passes and when we make our best in our everyday lives, we will be remerged upon the bud of hope already planted in us. I will practice my clumsy steps for dancing every day, looking forward to the day of hope.
