VOTE

10-26-2020

By Brenda Pogue

I vote for the more than one quarter of a million needlessly lost souls who cannot. I vote for the countless black and brown women and men who are unable. I vote for those unjustly behind prison bars. I vote for Dred Scott. I vote for black and women suffragists. I vote for the undocumented citizens of our country. I vote for those who fought and died so that I can vote. I vote because it is my voice. I vote to lift the voice of the voiceless. I vote.
