Happy New Year!

What a blessing to be alive and witness the gift that this New Year brings. I know for some, myself included, it took a lot of willpower, but we made it this far. Praise the Lord! Maybe sometimes the days felt weary and life was really hard. Or maybe circumstances changed around us and we found ourselves fighting huge battles. Or perhaps even we have, or are walking through a difficult illness, or a dark seasons, and no matter how much we’ve prayed, the difficulty seems to be lingering on for far too long.

Whichever way we have entered this New Year, one thing for sure is that, "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23) For just as sure as the sun comes up every morning, we can be confident that God’s mercies never end. God’s compassion towards us is fresh every morning. And like a new day, this New Year is a gift straight from God’s hand. So as we reflect on the past year and set goals for this New Year, remember that you have a new cup overflowing with God’s mercy, steadfast love and compassion.
