We are a compassionate community of faith, following the teachings of Jesus Christ, affirming His grace, sharing God’s love and serving all those in need.
Our vision for ministry is a thriving community of faith that extends their arms to the community and beyond to serve those in need to show God’s love and grace. Currently we have many mission opportunities that help those in need. We participate in the annual Crop Walk for Hunger ( https://www.crophungerwalk.org/), help with fundraisers, food drives, and Family to Family Christmas presents for Christopher House ( https://christopherhouse.org/), monthly support the FISH food pantry through service and support (https://www.fish-food-pantry.org/), Habitat for Humanity Joyful hands (http://www.habitatnfv.org/about-us/partnerships/), serve one Sunday per month at the Woodstock Soup Kitchen (http://woodstockbiblechurch.com/beyond_bread.cfm), and have consistently taken an annual youth mission trip to various locations that is centered around construction and rehabilitating homes of those in need. Recent locations include Grand Rapids, MI to help refugees, Puerto Rico and North Carolina to help with those affected by hurricanes. PCB has also participated in mission trips for “Living Waters International” (https://water.cc/home), participates in the Annual Barrington Giving Day, and quarterly serve at Feed My Starving Children (https://www.fmsc.org/).
We feel called to be active participants in the needs of our members and community. Our Deacons and minister actively serve our church family when any situation arises. From providing meals, prayers, flower delivery, and home visits.
The person we are looking for to fill the position of Associate Pastor for the Presbyterian Church of Barrington should possess the following qualities. They should be compassionate, approachable, with a pleasant/welcoming demeanor. He/she should also possess strong organizational and communication skills, be able to interact with all ages of church members and to deliver insightful sermons to our congregation. Above all, they should have a strong faith in God, an innate willingness to help others and a strong desire to be part of our community of faith.
