POSITION: Senior Pastor
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Visionary Leadership:
Articulate and cast a clear, compelling vision for the future of Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, inspiring congregants and community members alike.
Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives that align with the church’s values and goals, focusing on growth, discipleship, and impactful community outreach.
Strong Leadership:
Collaborate effectively with the ministerial council and church leaders to foster transparency, accountability, and excellence in all aspects of church life.
Demonstrate clarity, decisiveness, and courage in making difficult decisions that advance the church’s mission and prioritize the well-being of its members.
Innovation and Growth:
Innovate while upholding the church’s mission and vision, guiding the congregation in strategies for growth, discipleship, and community engagement.
Embrace creativity, adaptability, and strategic thinking to engage diverse populations and meet evolving community needs.
Passionate Youth Leader:
Prioritize the spiritual formation of youth, equipping them to become faithful disciples and leaders within the church and broader society.
Commit to personal and professional growth, nurturing a dynamic youth ministry that integrates with the church’s overall mission and vision.
Gifted Preacher and Worship Leader:
Deliver transformational sermons that apply biblical teachings to contemporary life, challenging individuals towards Christian maturity.
Lead meaningful worship experiences that foster encounters with God, both corporately and individually, reflecting the church’s worship ethos.
Grounded Theologian with Deep Spiritual Life:
Possess a strong theological foundation and deep spiritual life, guiding the congregation in theological reflection and spiritual formation.
Model authenticity, humility, and dependence on God in all aspects of ministry, demonstrating a commitment to personal spiritual growth and integrity.
Qualifications:
Ordained minister with a minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited college/university and demonstrated experience in pastoral ministry and church leadership.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships within the congregation and community.
Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development in theology, pastoral care, and leadership.
Alignment with the doctrinal beliefs and practices of Nineteenth Street Baptist Church.
Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire staff and volunteers towards achieving common goals.
