Per our Mission Statement - in covenant with God and according to the teachings of our Lord, Jesus Christ, dedicate ourselves to work for the manifestation of God's will in the world through worship, witness, teaching, study, service, prayer and ministering. We dedicate ourselves and grow our congregation through Bible study, volunteer service in our community and opening our church for community groups to meet.
Our Compassionate Ministries committee regularly donates to local charities, and we regularly collect food stuffs for these local charities. Congregation members serve on local non-profit boards and volunteer for local food banks and other non-profit organizations. In addition to serving on local non-profit boards and volunteering, we want to plan events where our congregation can increase our community exposure by work on service projects not just donating money. We want to investigate forming partnerships with other churches in the community, especially youth programs, to engage in special ministry and mission projects. The new pastor will also hold weekly devotional at our Early Learning Center, and possibly hold these in the sanctuary. We’ll use this as a springboard to invite the students’ parents to our church. The new pastor will also publicize our church to the community by joining the community ministers group and lead a weekly Bible Study at the nearby retirement community.
This pastor will review and reassign committees in order to get new ideas and fresh perspectives on the way we do things; provide moral support for those who may be ill or injured; and strengthen our Sunday School and other group meetings. The pastor will engage our community, both in person and on social media, extolling our church benefits and giving us greater awareness.
We hope this candidate will be young or young of mind & heart, with energy, charisma, independent thinking, and not a follower of the current trend. He or she will provide encouragement and teaching from the pulpit. They will also possess situational awareness of the congregation with excellent communication skills to both children and older congregants. The candidate will have strong involvement in our Early Learning Center.
