Services have been scheduled for Thursday and Friday, October 28-29

McCormick Theological Seminary continues to hold in prayer the Brazier family and the people of Apostolic Church of God of Chicago, whose Pastor Emeritus, Bishop Arthur Brazier, died last Friday morning, October 22.

Bishop Brazier’s storied 48-year leadership of one of the most vital African American churches in the country will continue to be celebrated in the days and weeks ahead in Chicago and in communities nationwide. For its part, McCormick is deeply grateful for its longtime partnership with Apostolic Church of God and Bishop Brazier’s commitment to the development of faithful leaders in service of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His ministry has helped McCormick become more rooted in and responsive to African American churches and communities throughout Chicago's South Side by encouraging members of his congregation to pursue theological education. Their presence at McCormick over the years has been a blessing to this community.

McCormick looks forward to many fruitful years of ministry together with the congregation under the leadership of Dr. Byron Brazier (M.Div. Class of 1996, D.Min., Class of 2000), current Pastor of Apostolic Church of God and a member of McCormick’s Board of Trustees, and Mrs. Mary Brazier (M.T.S., Class of 2010).
