McCormick Extends an Invitation to the 10th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Praise and Worship Celebration

Always vibrant and life-affirming, the praise and worship celebration honoring the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014, at 6:30 p.m.
Held this year at the Progressive Community Center—The People’s Church, the event is free and open to the public. The Center, pastored by the Rev. Dr. B. Herbert Martin, Sr., is located at 56 E. 48th Street in Chicago, IL.
Bringing the word will be guest preacher Rev. Deborah F. Mullen, Ph.D. Rev. Mullen is a former faculty member of McCormick Theological Seminary and currently the Dean of Faculty and Executive Vice President, Associate Professor of American Christianity and Black Church Studies at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.
Offerings of music and dance will lift up the heritage of African American communities. Imani Ya Watume Choir from Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago will sing. Liturgical dance will be offered by the Progressive Community Center’s Liturgical Dance Ministry.
