Dr. Irie Session (Facilitator)

Co-pastor of The Gathering, A Womanist Church

Dr. Irie Lynne Session, a multifaceted award-winning minister, pastor, author, TEDx presenter, and Womanist practitioner, leverages her extensive experience in social work and ministry to empower marginalized communities and Black women globally. Raised in the South Bronx and holding advanced degrees in social work and divinity, she has served as a parole officer, advocate for HIV/AIDS-affected families, and leader within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), culminating in her current role as co-pastor of The Gathering, A Womanist Church in Dallas, and CEO of DreamBIG Coaching & Consulting Services. Through her teaching at various seminaries, her online course "Holy Disruptors," and her globally impactful messages, she focuses on liberation and transformation, evidenced by her grant-funded work on Womanist preaching and her publications including "Badass Women of the Bible" and "The Gathering, A Womanist Church," while also enjoying her role as a traveling preacher and devoted single mother.
