We are searching for someone who is eager to be involved in a unique ministry position where the primary responsibility will be outreach to a small-town community. The congregation itself is small – some 19 members plus another 10+ who participate irregularly. These numbers do not define the active ministry, however. Pre-COVID, some 1000 folks entered our doors every month; over 100 volunteers make the various programs we support possible. The leadership is comprised of a six-member session and another Board of Directors for the 1st Phoenix Community Center – a non-profit agency birthed by the church and the Phoenix community at large.
For at least the last three years, the church and the community center have worked closely together as one unit. They both have their own 501c3. We are in the process of making this partnership a legal joint venture. The person we seek will oversee the new entity this makes.
What we are looking for is a leader who has serious non-profit background, but also can oversee the pastoral needs of the small congregation. We are looking for an Executive Director/Pastor. It will be a full-time position.
We have the voluntary leadership, we have the expressed needs for both the church and the community, and we have programs meeting basic needs. We also have dreams of what more can be done. And so it is, we seek a leader with the drive to bring these together into an over-all ministry that lifts up our values of Micah 6 – to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with our God.
